The stars above, they softly gleam,
Yet in her mind, no gentle beam.
Her thoughts are oceans, wild and wide,
Tides that pull her, turn the tide.
The moon may rise, but still she stays,
A prisoner in a labyrinth of days.
A thousand whispers lace the air,
Shadows of words, unsaid, unfair.
The night is thick with tangled threads,
Woven through the dreams she dreads.
The world drifts on, unaware,
While she remains, caught in the air.
The clock ticks loud, a constant hum,
A clockwork beast that will not come.
Her hands are tied by fleeting time,
She reaches out but finds no rhyme.
The night itself, a silent cage,
Where echoes dance upon the stage.
Her heart beats fast, but still it falls,
Lost between the fleeting calls.
For when the dark won’t set her free,
It holds her close, it lets her be.
A sleepless soul, adrift in flight,
Her wings still beating through the night.
