Minus Space: Two Faces

I stare into the glass, unsure,
Two faces stare, one dark, one pure.
One wears the mask of guilt and shame,
The other calls me by its name.

The good, it whispers soft, divine,
A distant glow, a fragile sign.
But evil claws with sharper teeth,
A hunger lurking underneath.

I wear the face of things I dread,
The light of hope is left for dead.
In shadows deep, I try to fight,
But darkness swallows up the light.

I reach for hands that never stay,
Chasing a dream that fades away.
Each step I take feels cold, unsure,
For evil calls, its grip is sure.

The chains I wear are made of lies,
A broken heart, a fading sky.
The good I knew is far from view,
A fading star I never knew.

I see the light, but it slips past,
A fleeting spark too quick to last.
For every step I take toward grace,
The shadows pull me back to place.

I scream for mercy, but they don’t hear,
The evil smiles, it draws me near.
The face I wear, it wears me too,
A mask I built but can’t undo.

In every tear, the battle dies,
Ashamed beneath these clouded skies.
For every lie I’ve told to you,
Is one more reason to feel untrue.

I’m trapped between two worlds, confined,
The light of good, the dark behind.
The mirror cracks, but doesn’t break,
Two faces split, yet both awake…
